Certified home health aide
Our skilled compassionate home health aides assist clients living in their own homes instead of in a health
facility. Under the direction of nursing or medical staff, home health aides provide health-related services,
such as medication reminders, help with simple prescribed exercises; keep patients' rooms neat; and help patients
move from bed, bath, dress, and groom. Occasionally, they change nonsterile dressings or assist with braces,
walkers, and continence care. Often home health aides work with elderly or disabled persons who need more extensive
care than family or friends can provide. Some help discharged hospital patients who have relatively short-term needs.
At ABC Home Healthcare, a nurse assigns specific duties and supervises home health aides, who keep records of the services
they perform and record patients' condition and progress. They report changes in patients' conditions to the supervisor or case manager.
Homemaker
Our skilled, compassionate homemakers assist with personal care services, such as showering, moving from
bed to chair, dress, and groom. They also assist with light homemaking, washing and drying clothes, meal preparation,
shopping and provide a watchful eye regarding the clients safety.
Some homemakers accompany clients outside the home, serving as a guide and companion.
Companion
Our skilled, compassionate companions assist the client outside the home, serving as a guide.
Live-in caregiver
Our live-in program offers the safety and comfort of knowing that someone is nearby around the clock. The live-in caregivers
have immediate access to a nurse at ABC Home Healthcare when your condition changes in any way. They assist you with all your personal care needs.
Just as important, though, our care-givers can take care of all those things that are part of your daily life, from running errands and
preparing food to replacing light bulbs and sewing on buttons. The live-in caregiver will be a companion for you as well, who will share
the activities that you enjoy, whether cards or reading or watching TV.
Respite & hospice services
This is the most requested service provided by ABC Home Healthcare. It is provided for chronically or terminally ill
patients who prefer the peace, comfort, and dignity of being at home. This care is another situation where private
home health aides or nursing can help patients and their families when they are overwhelmed with the situation. Often,
when someone becomes sick, a family member steps in to provide care (a spouse, sibling, or child). When the time
commitment or level of care required becomes too great, private care is a great alternative. Our team will provide
respite care as little as one hour to one day a week, or as many days as requested. This flexibility allows the primary
caregiver and families the opportunity for a much needed break or with a hospice patient, allows the family to spend
quality close time together without the need to worry about personal care or pain management schedules.
Nursing Care
Level of nursing care is dependent on the patient's needs. In consultation with the physician, or managing agency such as a
Hospice or Hospital a nurse will set up a plan of care to cover the physician's orders and client's requests. The nursing
care may include wound dressing, ostomy care, administering medication, monitoring health of patient, pain control, and other health support.
Private duty nursing can be scheduled hourly or on a per visit basis and is provided in all settings such as Home, Hospitals, Nursing
Homes, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living facilities.

"The moment Judith spoke to my father we knew he was in good hands. She was very professional and extremely caring and gentle.
Everyone involved with my fathers care, doctors, nurses, hospice, social workers all commented on how impressed they were with
Judith and how fortunate we were to have her (this we already knew). When my father passed away we asked her to stay and care
for my mother. We never once regretted our decision."
"Judy has gone above and beyond her duties. My mothers house was kept spotless by Judith. She took pride in her work
including gardening. She managed to coax my mother outside which is not an easy task. Judy is kind, thoughtful, caring
and extremely patient. We have been fortunate to have Judith in our lives. I thank you for providing us
with a wonderful person."
"The client has shown significant improvement, and the family credits Kettely! …The staff at
Youville, including the doctors, say she is doing a great job! The client has been taken off the
ventilator, and her anxiety has diminished significantly, and they all credit Kettely with this amazing progress!"
(Homer D. Ivester Obituary, North Reading Transcript)
...His family extends a heartfelt thank you to Maureen Namubiru of ABC Home Healthcare. She stayed with Homer from
May 6, 2008, to help him with the rigors of daily living, until the present. Her gentle manner and thoughtfulness made
it possible for him to stay in his home as he desired and allowed him his independence. Thanks to the nurses and staff of ABC...
Family of Katherine A Kingston
On behalf of the family I want to think all of you at ABC who helped us during our cousin’s illness. We were most pleased with
the care and compassion that Kathey received and that made a difficult situation a much easier one. Even the folks from Hospice
commented on how lucky we were to find you. They said that they have had other patients who were not as fortunate.
Once again our deepest thanks.
Sincerely – Mark Fallon & Family
